We, the Church of Christ at Azalea Drive are Christians who worship and fellowship as members of Christ’s Body, His Church. We are active in fellowship with others of like faith. We believe that in Christian worship, God always speaks, and that we must be listening. We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God.
About Our Worship
We carry on our work and worship, as we understand the Scriptures to teach. According to apostolic precedent, we celebrate the Lord's Supper each Lord's day. Our music is the praise of our lips without mechanical accompaniment. Our giving is liberal, untaxed and symbolic of the dedication of all that we have and are. The entire worship program is biblically based, but not rigid.
Important Bible Information
The Bible is our sole authority. It is accepted as the complete inspired word of God and the only necessary guide in religious matters (II Timothy 3:16, 17 & Jude 3). We have no human creed book, discipline manual, nor catechism, neither did the church of the first century. Human authorities are the sources of division, but we can all unite on what the Bible teaches. The Bible is taught in our classes and from our pulpit each time we assemble. We accept the challenge of giving BOOK, CHAPTER and VERSE for the evidence of what we teach and the instruction of how we required to live.
Other Important Information
Each congregation of the Church of Christ is self-governing. There is neither district nor central headquarters passing down man- made laws to govern us. We are govern by the New Testament teachings (Philippians 1:1, I Timothy 3:13 and Acts 20:28-32). Our ministers, elders, deacons cannot make laws nor change God’s laws but govern the congregation as guided by the Bible. Congregations may voluntarily cooperate with each other but neither congregation nor set of leaders has the authority over another congregation or leadership. Our only connection with other churches of Christ is our common faith and practice found in the universal body of Christ (Ephesians 4:1-6; 5:23). We are not a part of any synod, conference or association. All funds contributed for the work of the church are distributed by the local congregation for the up building of the Lord’s work.
